"The Wawel Town" (2025)

The animation and accompanying 3D mapping on a physical model form an integral part of the new permanent exhibition “The Wawel Town” at the Wawel Royal Castle. The project tells the story of an urban space that no longer exists and of the communities who, since the Middle Ages, lived in the shadow of the castle.

Rendered in a hand-drawn visual style, the animation guides the viewer through the streets and corners of the vanished town. The camera movement and the buildings described by the narrator are precisely synchronized with the projection mapped onto the model, creating a coherent, legible, and immersive narrative about a forgotten layer of Wawel’s historical landscape.
